Most homeowners only deal with a roofing contractor once or twice in their lifetime. That means the stakes are high — choose the wrong contractor and you could end up with substandard work, ongoing leaks, and a bill that grows well beyond the original quote. Choose the right one and you get a roof that protects your home for decades, installed by licensed tradespeople using quality materials, backed by a written guarantee.

    Our Residential Roofing Services

    Residential Roof Replacement

If your roof is more than 20 years old, showing widespread corrosion, sagging in sections, or has had repeated leak issues that repairs have not resolved, a full roof replacement is almost always the most cost-effective long-term solution. Ongoing repairs on an end-of-life roof are a false economy — every repair costs money, disrupts your household and buys only a short-term fix.

A D Roofing manages the complete residential roof replacement process:

    • Full removal of the existing roof system — including safe handling and disposal of asbestos where present
    • Inspection and repair of any damaged or deteriorated sarking, battens or fascia boards
    • Supply and installation of new Colorbond or Zincalume steel roofing system
    • Installation of new gutters, downpipes and flashings
    • Full site cleanup and waste removal

We work with you to select the right Colorbond profile and colour from the full BlueScope range — a new roof should complement your home's architecture and add genuine visual value to the property.

A new Colorbond roof transforms the appearance of a home, significantly improves energy performance through BlueScope's Thermatech solar reflectance technology, and adds measurable value to the property at resale.

    Residential Roof Repairs

A D Roofing provides targeted, permanent repairs for homeowners dealing with roofing problems that do not require a full replacement. We repair:

    • Active roof leaks and water ingress
    • Rusted, corroded or perforated metal sheeting
    • Damaged or failed ridge capping and flashings around chimneys, vents and skylights
    • Blocked or damaged gutters and downpipes causing overflow and water damage
    • Storm damage including hail impact, wind-lifted sheets and debris penetration
    • Ponding water on low-pitch roof sections
    • Failed or deteriorating roof penetration seals around pipes, flues and air conditioning units

Every repair starts with an honest inspection. We identify the actual source of the problem — not just where the water is appearing inside the house — and provide a written quote for a permanent repair. We do not patch over symptoms and charge again when the underlying issue resurfaces.

Why Homeowners Choose A D Roofing

Licensed roof plumbers on every job.

A D Roofing never sends a labourer or unqualified trades assistant to do a licensed roof plumber's work. Every member of our roofing team holds the required NSW, ACT or QLD roofing licence. That protects you legally and ensures the work is done to the required standard.

    Commercial-grade materials.

We use genuine Colorbond and Zincalume products manufactured by BlueScope Steel on every residential job. We do not use cheaper imported alternatives or unbranded sheeting. The materials that go on your home are the same products we install on commercial and industrial buildings — designed to last decades in Australian conditions.

    Honest, transparent quoting.

You receive a written, itemised quote before any work commences. Our quotes do not have hidden charges, inflated call-out fees or vague contingency allowances. What we quote is what you pay — unless the scope changes, in which case we discuss it with you before proceeding.

Asbestos capability most residential roofers don't have.

A D Roofing is licensed for asbestos removal. If your home was built or re-roofed before 1990, there is a genuine possibility that the roofing material contains asbestos cement. We identify, safely remove and dispose of asbestos roofing as part of the replacement process, with full compliance documentation.

Full site cleanup on every job.

We treat your property with respect. Safety barricades protect your garden, driveway and vehicles during works. All waste materials, offcuts and debris are removed from your property at the end of every working day and on final completion. We leave your property cleaner than we found it.

    Written workmanship guarantee.

Every residential job is backed by a written workmanship guarantee. If something is not right with our work, we come back and fix it.

    The Residential Roofing Process

    1. Free In-Home Inspection and Quote

We visit your property at a time that suits your schedule. Our licensed roofing specialist inspects your roof from all accessible points — both from the exterior and from the roof space where appropriate. We identify all existing issues, assess the overall condition of the roof and discuss your options honestly.

    2. Written Quote and Material Selection

You receive a written quote detailing the full scope of works and fixed total price. For roof replacements, we walk you through the full Colorbond colour and profile range so you can make an informed choice that suits your home.

    3. Scheduling

We schedule your job at a time that suits your household. Residential roof replacements typically take 2–4 working days depending on the size and complexity of the roof. We confirm the start date, keep you informed of progress throughout, and let you know in advance if weather affects the programme.

    4. Site Setup and Safety

On the first day, our team arrives with all required equipment and materials. Safety barricades are established around the work area. Precautions are taken to protect gardens, driveways, vehicles and any outdoor furniture from debris and tools. If asbestos is being removed, an exclusion zone is established and you will be advised on safe distancing for the duration of the removal works.

    5. Roof Removal

The existing roof is carefully removed section by section. For asbestos roofs, all sheets are removed intact wherever possible to minimise fibre release, immediately placed in sealed asbestos waste bags and prepared for transport to a licensed disposal facility. Non-asbestos roofing waste is collected and removed from site in bins.

    6. Structural Inspection and Preparation

With the old roof removed, we inspect the underlying structure — sarking, battens, fascia boards and rafters — for any damage, rot or deterioration. Any identified defects are discussed with you and included in an amended scope before new materials are installed.

    7. New Roof Installation

New sarking is installed first, followed by timber battens and then the selected Colorbond roofing profile. All sheets are fixed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation guide and Australian Standards. Ridge capping, flashings, barge boards and all penetration details are installed and sealed on completion.

    8. Gutters, Downpipes and Finishing

New gutters and downpipes are installed or refitted to match the new roof. All gutter joints are sealed. Downpipes are connected to appropriate drainage outlets. The property is checked for any loose fixings, offcuts or debris.

    9. Final Inspection and Handover

We conduct a final quality check of all completed works. You receive your written workmanship guarantee, documentation of any asbestos disposal if applicable, and our contact details for any future maintenance requirements.

    Still have a question?

    0434 058 186
How do I know if I need a full replacement or just repairs?

As a general rule, if your roof is under 15 years old and the damage is isolated, repairs are usually the right approach. If the roof is over 20 years old, is showing widespread corrosion across multiple sections, or has had repeated leak issues that repairs have not resolved, a full replacement is typically the better investment. We give you our honest assessment at the inspection — we will not recommend a replacement if repairs will genuinely solve the problem.

My house was built in the 1970s. Could it have asbestos on the roof?

Very likely. Asbestos cement sheeting was the standard residential roofing material in Australia from the 1940s through to the late 1980s. If your home was built or re-roofed before 1990, there is a high probability the roof contains asbestos. A D Roofing can confirm this during the inspection and manage the removal safely and compliantly as part of the replacement project.

How long does a residential roof replacement take?

A standard residential roof replacement typically takes 2–4 working days. Larger homes, complex roof shapes, asbestos removal and weather can extend this timeline. We provide an accurate programme estimate in your written quote.

Do you install gutters as part of the replacement?

Yes. Gutter and downpipe replacement is included as part of our full roof replacement service. We can also provide standalone guttering replacement for properties that do not require a full re-roof.

    Do you service my area?

A D Roofing services residential properties across NSW, ACT and Queensland, including Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Call 0434 058 186 to confirm coverage in your area.

    Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. A D Roofing holds all required roofing licences in NSW, ACT and Queensland, and carries full public liability insurance. We are happy to provide copies of our licence and insurance documents on request.
